Job growth in almost all sectors of the Canadian economy is the result of the efforts of small to medium-sized enterprises (SME). The growth of small business has presented new challenges to the study of business.
Our Business program specializes in providing the student the relevant and practical business skills demanded by the small business operations which are fuelling our economy. Graduates of the Business program will have reliably demonstrated the ability to apply the practical and theoretical business concepts relevant to operating a SME.
Sault College`s unique geographic location, bordering the United States, allows the Business program the opportunity to provide a global perspective to the study of business. Our program integrates the use of current technology and business application software in a simulation of the real world of business. All Business students take a common first semester of study with Accounting students.
A graduate of our 2-year Business Diploma may seek to pursue further study at Algoma Universityto obtain a Bachelor`s Degree in Business within two to three years. Please contact Algoma Universityfor more information on transfer and entrance requirements for each post-secondary institution.
The Business program specializing in the Management of a SME is a unique program unmatched by any other community college in the province of Ontario. Successful completion of our program will provide the graduate with a unique set of skills that are in increasing demand by the business community.A number of the program courses are recognized as credit equivalencies in the Human Resources Practices Certificate program offered at Sault College.
