2 Years - 4 Semesters Ontario College Diploma
The Electrical Engineering Technician - Power Generation program is designed to provide you with the specialized knowledge and skills required to pursue a career in power generation or transmission. As a graduate, you will appeal to manufacturing companies who generate their own power with cogeneration, diesel, wind or other forms of energy conversion. The program provides you with a solid understanding of electrical fundamentals and then moves on to teach specific concepts related to power generation and transmission. Laboratory sessions are incorporated into all years of the program to emphasize and reinforce theoretical concepts.
Upon graduation, you will receive an Ontario College Diploma as an Electrical Engineering Technician, with a specialty in Power Generation, in addition to having most of the prerequisites required for direct entry into the 3rd year of the Sault College Electrical Engineering Technology - Process Automation program.
Students may have the opportunity to be involved in applied research projects. Please see the Applied Research Centre section for more information relating to the Sault College Applied Research Centre.
