OPSW101 - Care Principles and Practice II provides the learner with opportunities to apply previously learned, as well as newly acquired, concepts and knowledge in a simulated environment in order to provide safe, holistic care in a practice setting. This course focuses on the role of the Personal Support Worker in different care settings, as well as interprofessional collaboration; household management; dementia, palliative care, and end-of-life care; documentation; and medication management. Learning will occur through the use of scenario-based simulations and assignments. There are 36 hours of theory, a skill quest, and simulations, and 64 hours of community placement.

Scenario-based learning is an instructional strategy used in online learning. It uses real-life situations to provide relevant learning experiences that can facilitate the application of learning and decision-making for the learner (Pandy, 2019)
