The Opportunity:  An Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) Apprentice to work under the supervision and immediate direction of a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. The incumbent is responsible for performing maintenance on Sault College aircraft and aircraft components. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, the incumbent has a role in assisting with related hanger and equipment maintenance/inspection activities.

What you need to be successful:

  • a two-year Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) diploma from a Transport Canada approved college Aviation Maintenance program or
  • a certificate of successful completion or proof of current enrollment in an approved AME training correspondence course
  • experience or education in Avionics and /or Aircraft Structural Repair considered an asset
  • ability to work well in a team environment
  • a valid driver’s license
  • documented experience associated with maintenance activity related to transportation equipment or engine/motive power applications considered an asset
  • experience maintaining single and multi-engine piston powered light aircraft considered an asset 
  • completion of a Transport Canada approved “Human Factors in Maintenance” initial training course (usually provided in a college aviation diploma program) considered an asset

This is a full-time bargaining unit position, 40 hours/week, Payband D - $23.84 - $27.61/hour (starting rate $23.84/hour).
