This course will concentrate on Mechanical Metallurgy, which is the study of the techniques and mechanical forces that shape or make finished forms of metal and also Physical Metallurgy, which is the study of the effect of structure on the properties of metals. Special attention will be given on how heat-treating can change these physical properties and how these changes affect machining. This course will also cover how Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and its importance in determining the reliability of machined parts.
