Basic characteristics of measuring means, processes and final elements. Automatic control, including two position, proportional plus integral plus derivative, cascade and ratio. Measurement of process variables pressure, temperature, humidity, dew point, flow, level, force, plus block diagram and system tuning considerations; supporting lab work includes, calibration of transducers, flow determination by orifice, orifice sizing, manometry and bubblers, system response and stability, effect of capacity and lag, valve characteristics, regulators and square root extractors, simulation of industrial processes: temperature, flow, pressure and level.
