Hairstylist

Labour Market Conditions

Esthetician

The balance between labour supply and demand seen in recent years is expected to continue in Canada over the 2022-2031 period, with 21,200 expected new job openings and 17,600 new job seekers. In Ontario, the employment outlook is expected to remain relatively stable. 31% of this occupation group are self-employed compared to 12% for all occupations, with 36% of those in this occupation having attained a college certificate or diploma, making this educational attainment the   top group.

Hairstylist 

Labour demand and labour supply are expected to be broadly in line for this occupation group over the 2022-2031 period nationally. 35,200 new job seekers are expected to be available to fill 42,500 expected new job openings. The employment outlook for this group will be moderate with employment expected to remain relatively stable. The majority of this occupation are in the personal care services industry, followed by others being self-employed. Makeup Artist and Wig Maker
