This course explores essential elements of project management and their application to the health care industry. Learners explore the topics of creating and managing teams, delegation, motivation, conflict resolution, and negotiation in order to more effectively engage stakeholders and build support for project outcomes. Faculty layer technical project management skills on top of these topics to ensure learners can optimize project effectiveness within the health care context. This course introduces learners to project management software, reviewing basic functions in Microsoft Project that are essential for any project. Through case studies, learners exchange ideas with classmates, practice project management skills gained, and apply tools to their project assignments.
