Occupational Health and Safety

This course introduces students to safety and risk management principles specific to human resources. Topics include health and safety issues such as WHMIS, WSIB Act, workplace hazards assessment, accident prevention, workplace violence and harassment, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario. Students will work toward an understanding of the ways in which human resource professionals become actively involved in health and safety in the promotion of employee health and wellness in the workplace.
