Frequently Asked Questions

Who May Enrol?

Participants in Continuing Education credit or credit-related courses must hold at least an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or the equivalent, or be a mature student (at least 19 years of age on or before the date of enrolment).

Wait Lists

Students wishing to register for courses that are full will be placed on a wait list. The College will let students know if any vacancies occur in their courses or if the demand warrants an additional course offering.

Course Refunds, Withdrawals and Transfers

To withdraw from a course, you must let the Registrar’s Office know before the second scheduled class. A refund (less a $15 Administration Fee) will ONLY be issued for a withdrawal request made BEFORE THE SECOND SCHEDULED CLASS. If the course has only one class, the withdrawal request must be made prior to the beginning of that scheduled class to be eligible for a refund. Refunds will be issued in the form of a cheque from the Accounting Office regardless of method of payment. You may transfer to another class if space is available, before the second scheduled class is held in both the course you are transferring out of and the one you are being transferred into.

Course Cancellations

The College reserves the right to cancel, combine, or postpone classes and to limit registration or change instructors. Should your course be cancelled, you may transfer to another course or you will automatically receive a full refund in the mail from the Sault College Accounting Office. Course cancellations are determined one week prior to the first day of class. Every attempt will be made to notify you if your class is cancelled or changed. Remember that early registration helps to ensure that classes will not be cancelled.

Need a Part-time Certificate/Transfer Credit Evaluation?

If you wish to apply for a certificate upon completion of your part-time studies, you must submit a completed application form to the Registrar’s Office and pay a $34 certificate-processing fee.
