As a student, you can apply for an RPA Student Membership, which provides exclusive benefits such as networking opportunities, practical training, and access to industry resources—all designed to support your professional growth.

Upon graduation, you will have met all but two course requirements for the RPA designation. These additional courses can be completed through online learning, helping you efficiently progress toward earning your designation.

Steps To Your RPA Designation

Enroll in Sault College’s Business - Accounting Program.

As a student, you can apply for an RPA Student Membership to access networking, industry training, and learning resources.

Complete Your Diploma.

Upon graduation, you will have satisfied 18 of the 20 required RPA pre-requisite courses.

Complete the Remaining Two Courses.

Enroll in the two additional pre-requisite OntarioLearn courses, offered by Sault College, to    fulfill the 20-course requirement. If you are a current student, please contact your AA to enroll, otherwise contact the Continuing Education department at   continuingeducation@saultcollege.ca to enroll.

  • Auditing I (OEL1479)

Apply for the RPA Designation.

Submit your application and receive an assessment report detailing your eligibility and next steps.

Pass the Mandatory Professional Examination (MPE).

The MPE is a 4-module proctored online, closed book exam. It encompasses four examinations, with each exam covering a different module. The MPE is conducted in June and November each year.

Gain Professional Work Experience.

Complete two years of relevant accounting-related work experience.
