For your convenience, Sault College offers courses in a variety of formats to fit your lifestyle and approach to learning. Each course is noted with the method of delivery for that particular course.
Delivery Methods
Online Learning
Online learning is offered through OntarioLearn - a consortium of 22 colleges in Ontario that have joined together to offer online courses in a way that promotes convenience, quality and variety. Please note that even though some of our in-class courses may have an online substitute, the textbooks, the course name, requirements and prerequisites may differ between the online courses and the in-class courses. Visit www.ontariolearn.com for a complete listing of online courses. You can register with Sault College for all OntarioLearn courses.
Independent Study
With this learning method, you can start anytime. Upon registration, a facilitator will be assigned to you for the duration of your course. This mode of learning is truly independent and requires that you be very self-motivated and disciplined.
Contact North
Through our partnership with Contact North, we offer a number of popular online synchronous courses using an “electronic classroom” at a specific time in a community with a Contact North site. Visit www.contactnorth.ca for a list of locations. Courses are offered by audio conferencing, video conferencing and e-learning technologies that link the instructor and students at various locations throughout Ontario. This learning mode is for those who like structure and enjoy group learning.
Classroom Learning
Many courses are offered in a traditional classroom/lab setting. The actual location will be local (in Sault Ste. Marie) and will be listed with each individual course.
