This course introduces students to common injuries involved with regular exercise, and sport and exercise specific injuries. It will combine practical and assessment strategies for injury prevention and treatment. Students will examine causes of injury, classification of injuries and physiology of injuries. The role of a Fitness Professional in prevention, and care of common athletic injuries will be discussed. Students will be able to identify mechanisms of injury, signs and symptoms. Practical labs will allow students the opportunity to demonstrate appropriate exercises that will assist in creating exercise prescription plans for clients with specific injuries.
