Prerequisites note:
MUST HAVE successfully completed: Beginning Medical Transcription with all its prerequisites: Medical Terminology, Medical Keyboarding, Communications, Transcription Styles & Practices, Transcription Fundamentals.
Prerequisites:
This course is designed for the transcriptionist wishing to perfect their skills in medical transcription and terminology. The main purpose of the course is to develop and refine transcription skills to a competitive level by using the learning activities included in the textbook.
Note:
Windows 7, 8, 10, XP, or Vista. Must have audio capabilities (speakers or ear phones). The Word Processing will be MS Word (97, 2007, 2010, 2013). PC (or 100% compatible) 233 MHz Pentium II or higher processor; 64 MB or higher; Hard disk with 40MB free; Soundblaster compatible sound card and speakers; 800 x 400 monitor capable of displaying 256 color. Transcription playback software will be a free download from the Internet (Traditional equipment will be simulated). Students may choose to purchase a foot pedal from the software download site (optional). Note that MAC users will need to purchase a Microsoft Word compatibility program installed (about $100 at Staples/Future Shop).
